Pressure Regulators: They should be used when Positive control of Pressure in a Gas stream is required. Pressure Regulators reduce high pressure Compressed Gas to, a pressure that can be safely contained in your equipment. Pressure Regulators are of Two types Two stage and Single Stage.
Two stage Two Guage regulator consists of regulator with two pressure guages, one to record cylinder pressure and the other to record down-stream or discharge pressure. The regulator reduces the pressure in two stages, in the first stage the high pressure automatically reduces to present intermediate pressure that is relatively stable. In the second stages the pressure is manually adjusted to the desired discharge pressure. Two stage design permits steady gas delivery and precise control of gas pressure throughout the discharge of virtually the entire gas pressure of a compressed gas cylinder. These regulators are used when discharge pressure of a compressed gas system must be accurately controlled. Note. Pressure regulators do not control the flow of gas but flow is controlled with a needle valve.
Single stage two guage regulators perform the same service as two stage regulators but in one stage. For this reason control of discharge pressure is not as accurate astwo stage. But these are used very well for Cutting, Brazing, testing operations.Inlet and outlet connections of these regulator is to IS 3224.
